Every calf's number comes up. All the herd sneaking and head dodging won't save you from a crafty cow pony and a fancy Blocker shot. Take your doctoring early and enjoy your morning in the branding pen. I photographed Brad working for Ben Kimble and Tommy Stewart. This was the first calf of the morning; first loop, at first light. I'd say this calf definitely drew the short straw.
I'll be out of the studio for the rest of the weekend, enjoying the 4th. Hope you are, too!
